This blog hop had me thinking pretty hard! Even though I set the theme, I struggled with what to create for it. I’ve had so many fantasy card ideas over the years, but not necessarily for any current product. I’d made the banner from a stock image and finally landed on an idea… inspired by the banner! Take a look, how did I do?

One of the elements of fantasy that were ‘iconic’ to me (get the pun? Not yet? You will by the end of the post…) was lots of detail, so I started loading this card up with little details! I started just by layering pieces, using the dies and some elements to get an idea of the final layout…

Use the dies and other elements to figure out your layout before you finalize it!

I cut out the mushrooms from cardstock layered onto multipurpose foam sheets…

Die cut your elements with cardstock adhered to multipurpose foam sheets to create your own 3D elements.

Then I sponged them with some white craft ink diluted in alcohol to create some dimension and texture…

Use ink and a sponge to add dimension and texture to your elements.

For the sentiment I wanted just a part of this stamp from the Love & Happiness set. I masked off the part I didn’t want with washi tape (you can also use pieces of a sticky note), then inked up my stamp, removed the mask, and then stamp onto your cardstock!

Stamp just a part of your stamp by masking a part off with washi tape or sticky notes. Ink it up, take your mask away, and stamp your image!
