Hey Chicks Blog Hop

Today’s blog hop is based on the returning Hey Chick and the new Hey Birthday Chick bundles! The original stamp set was a run away success at Sale-A-Bration a couple years ago, and the funny birds are back in a birthday themed set, plus there’s coordinating dies for both sets now too!

Chickens have played a big part in my life for years. When I was in middle school I had a chicken lay an egg on my foot at a petting zoo, and being the kid I was, I brought it to my science teacher and we hatched it! Tumbleweed was a spectacular Plymouth Rock rooster, and he had his own little harem of chicks we got from the feed store. They kept us company and provided us with eggs for many years, and they were a lot of fun. Check out this throwback I shared yesterday of me and my chickens! This was taken shortly after we moved them out of the tote in my bedroom and into the intermediate coop in the garage…

But back to todays hop… For my project I wanted to recreate the feeling of having chickens running around the yard and I think I captured it! What do you think?

I love these slimline cards because you can make such great scenes on them. Here’s a closer look at the ones I included.

Now go take a look at what everyone else created!

  3. Such a fun card, love how you used all the chicks! We have 8 chickens ourselves.

  4. Great card! Love that you combined both bundles – you really can't have one without the other!

  5. Love your card. We too had chickens when we were growing up. Seven bantams which were quite a handful.
