Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop – Retirement Blues

Such a bittersweet time of year… So much excitement about new products and a new catalogue, but so much sadness about losing old favourites. And those favourites is what this blog hop is all about, we’re sharing out favourite retiring products, the ones we’re sure to miss.

You probably got here from Deb’s blog, so welcome!

My first two cards were a custom commission for a friend. He wanted custom cards for his mother and mother in law. I love doing custom commissions because I get to play with any of my products, and don’t have to worry about them being current at all.

For the first one, my retiring products are the Apothecary Framelits, and the Dictionary background stamp. I did throw in some of the Sahara Sand Lace Trim that’s carrying over from the Occasions Catalogue into the new Annual Catty!

This card is a little more subtle. I used some retired ribbon, but what I actually wanted to show was the colours. All of these colours are sticking around, but I found the combination using the Color Coach. This tool is invaluable to finding new colour combinations, and I’ll be sad to see it go.

Last but not least, I used the retiring In Color Sequins to add a pop to this fun bokeh card! We’re making this card at Technique Club next week, and I’m totally stoked! I’m also excited that the letters framelits are carrying over, and there’s something new and awesome that coordinates with them as well… stay tuned for more on that!

Thanks for checking out my projects, now you can hop along to Gail’s blog, or go backwards to Deb’s. Any of the available products I used are available to order through your demonstrator.
