Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop: April Fools

This blog hop is all about April Fools, so how fitting that I’m running ridiculously behind in posting it! If you’ve come from Jackie’s blog, welcome, if this is your first stop, don’t forget to check out the others’ projects!

My first project came to me while I was playing with the Alphanumeric Simply Pressed Clay mould. I was making random letters when I realized it reminded me of the magnetic letters I had on my fridge in university. I decided to make something with them that reminded me of that. I took my letters and added colour to them with my ink pads, and glazed them with Crystal Effects.
Then as luck would have it, I visited our friend Deborah! The rest of the Water Cooler Gang doesn’t know we met in person, but I had a great time with her just chatting away the other day. AND in coincidences to end all coincidences, she lives only a couple of doors down from where that infamous fridge was!
I did use some retired products on my canvas, and the cards on it where ones I received from my lovely friends in the Water Cooler. But I think I can be forgiven for bending the rules a little for April Fools!
I’ve been loving my shaker cards too! Most of the cards I’ve seen with this set of framelits have had a cut out balloon popped up on a card, so I decided to reverse it and fill the balloon with confetti! Those stars just make me happy…

And finally, I’ll leave you with a piece of advice from a stamp set I love…

I hope you enjoyed my projects, hop along to see everyone else’s work, either go forward to Marie’s blog, or backwards to Jackie’s! You can also head over to the main site to see the master list of posts.
Any of the current products I used here are available through your demonstrator or any of the Water Cooler Gang.

  1. Love those letters! The shaker card is so "happy". I needed that reminder to never top exploring. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hi Stefanie, thanks for being part of the blog hop. As usual you do not disappoint. I love that nostalgic use of the Alphanumeric set. That really does look just like the fridge letters, some of which made their way onto my fridge, thanks to my grandsons. I've sat on the fence since the Occasions Catalogue came out, not quite committing to that cute Project Life stamp set. You may just have pushed me off the fence.

  3. Love your canvas with the colorful letters, Stefanie! I'm gonna have to make me some of those! And your shaker card is too cute–I like the "reversed look". Super projects!

  4. I remember those magnets from years gone by, great replica. I love your shaker card.

  5. I've been toying with the thought of getting those letters, and now you've sold me on them at first glance. What a creative and fun idea! The shaker card is simply a delight. It made me feel happy the moment I looked at it. Thanks for sharing your beautiful projects!

  7. Awww! Stefanie, I love your projects. How clever with the letters. Your cards are wonderful and those little stars do make that a happy balloon.

  8. These are great, Stefanie! Your letters are so clever! The shaker card is so pretty – and the "Adventure Bound" paper is perfect for that stamp set. Great job!! (And isn't Deborah wonderful? She's always smiling.)

  9. Stefanie, your 'fridge' turned out perfectly!! (I'm so bummed that I missed participating in this hop – well, at least I still have the picture of us!) It was a blast meeting you in person 🙂
