I haven’t been making many cards lately, but I have still been crafting. For my birthday earlier this year I got myself a couple of classes, and one was making candles… so of course I went crazy and started making SO MANY candles! Luckily my friend Jennifer at The Nutcracker Market agrees to sell most of the products of my hyperfixations, so I made a whole bunch for her to sell at the store. I tested a bunch of different styles, and thought I’d share some of what I ended up making.

Some of you may not know this about me, but before I was a paramedic and a nurse, I was a graphic designer! I specialized in packaging design, so of course I had to go a little overboard on my candle packaging. I had the concept to have a background logo and then a strip to show the ‘collection’ of the candle as well as some information about the local feature that inspired it. I ordered the logo stickers from Sticker Mule because I wanted them to be white with a clear backing so they would work on any surface, and they turned out exactly how I wanted!

The Crafty Medic branches out into candle making! Candles made with soy wax and treasures collected from local beaches. The tins are filled with colored scented wax and labeled with stickers from Sticker Mule.

These tins are my “Beachcomber” collection, and feature treasures collected from local beaches. While they should be removed before burning, these candles are a lovely little beach scene and smell so amazing even just under a warmer!

And of course you know me… I couldn’t stop at just one. I started asking friends and family what they wanted to see! My mom specifically requested a citronella candle for her deck, so I made these!

And because I couldn’t stop playing… I made some wax melts too!

I have more ideas coming up, so I’m sure I’ll post again, but I love the flexibility that the stickers I designed give me. Maybe next time I’ll share my process in making these candles and get a few more of you addicted?

In the mean time if you’d like to make your own candles, you can purchase supplies from Village Craft & Candle, and of course you can get your own custom clear stickers made by the wonderful folks at Sticker Mule!

Happy stamping!
